Getting the Space Ready
Empty the entire work area. Take everything off and out of the tub, shower, and counters — shampoo bottles, soaps, sponges, décor — plus the top of the refrigerator and any nearby shelves. Store items in cabinets or in another room. The space should look as bare as a vacant home before we start.
Our technicians cannot handle your personal belongings — big or small, no exceptions. If the area is not cleared when we arrive, we may have to reschedule and a cancellation fee will apply.
Move and cover furniture and décor. Shift furniture, rugs, floor mats, and anything hanging on the walls at least 8–10 feet away from the work area, and cover whatever stays in the room.
Clean the surfaces being reglazed. The tub, shower, or walls should be as clean as you can get them. If there’s soap-scum buildup, give the surface a good scrub with an abrasive cleanser beforehand. This applies to the existing surface only, before we do the work — it helps the new coating bond properly. Once your surface has been reglazed, never use abrasive cleansers, scouring powders, steel wool, or scrub pads on it; please follow our Aftercare Instructions for approved cleaning products.
Plan to be away during the work. Please arrange to be out of the home, condo, or apartment for the full duration of the appointment. While the coating is being applied, only Simply Reglaze technicians may be on the premises.
Before Reglazing Day
Fix any dripping faucets or valves first. The new finish needs a 48-hour cure, and water reaching the surface during that window can ruin the coating and may void your warranty. Please double-check for leaks before your appointment.
Keeping your existing fixtures or shower doors? No problem — our technician will simply mask around the fixtures and door tracks that stay in place.
Pets must be out of the home for the entire appointment — for their safety and ours. If animals are on the premises when we arrive, a cancellation fee will apply.
Take down wall hangings and decorations in and around the immediate work area — pictures, mirrors, towel art, anything on the walls nearby.
During & After the Job
Only our team inside while we work. For safety and air-quality reasons, no one other than Simply Reglaze technicians may be in the home while the refinishing is in progress — we can’t make exceptions.
Let the space air out before you return. Allow at least 5 hours of ventilation before re-entering. Anyone with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory or medical sensitivities should stay out for 24 hours or more.
Plan around the cure time. Your reglazed tub, shower, sink, or countertop cannot be used for 48 hours after we finish, so make arrangements ahead of time (a neighbor’s shower, a second bathroom, etc.).
A note about masking tape. We use quality painter’s tape and work carefully, but tape can occasionally lift paint or wallpaper on surrounding walls when removed. Any touch-ups needed afterward are the owner’s responsibility — Simply Reglaze cannot be held liable for this type of damage.
