Mill Valley grew from a redwood-canyon resort into one of Marin’s most sought-after towns, and its older neighborhoods — Downtown, Blithedale Canyon, Cascade Canyon, Sycamore Park and Homestead Valley — are full of 1900s–1930s brown-shingle and Craftsman homes on steep, narrow lots. Many still have their original cast-iron or clawfoot tubs, pedestal sinks and small-format tile.
