Reading the bathtub & walls photos
A tub-and-walls job covers the bathtub plus its surround, whether that is ceramic tile with grout or a one-piece fiberglass or acrylic tub-shower unit. Several of these units were built in colors that date the whole bathroom: a pink tile surround with a matching pink sink, almond and beige fiberglass units, tan tile with dark diamond accents. Others were plain white but worn.
In the Before frames look for gray and black grout lines, mildew staining in the corners, soap-scum haze on the lower walls, a tub floor worn through to the base, and rust on the tub edge where the surround meets the rim. One tub in this set was heavily rusted along the top edge and was repaired before coating.
In the After frames the tub, walls and any built-in shelf or seat are a single continuous surface with no color break at the rim. On tile surrounds the grout lines are sealed beneath the coating, so the tile pattern is still visible but the grout can no longer stain. Spouts, valves and shower heads were masked in place, not removed.
Pricing & service
Tub-and-wall packages are quoted together, based on the size of the surround and the repairs it needs; estimates are free. Details are on the tile & wall refinishing service page.
