What the photos show

Reading the showers photos

This set includes ceramic-tile showers with a tiled pan, one-piece fiberglass and acrylic stalls with molded seats and shelves, and a walk-in stall with a low curb. Shower refinishing coats every surface inside the enclosure: the walls, the floor or pan, the seat and any built-in shelf.

In the Before frames the pans carry the most damage. Diagonal-set floor tile with grout gone black, textured fiberglass floors stained gray, rust and mineral build-up around the drain, and one stall with heavy orange staining across the floor and up the walls. Fiberglass walls have yellowed and the grout on tiled walls has darkened.

In the After frames the enclosure is one continuous white surface from the curb to the top of the tile. Grout lines are sealed beneath the coating so they cannot stain again, and the floor texture is smoothed over. Doors, valves and shower heads were masked in place. Showers carry our 2-year warranty.

Pricing & service

Most showers cost $400–$900 depending on size, material and repairs; see the shower refinishing service page. Tile-specific details are on the tile shower refinishing page.
